STATEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

Freedom, taking flight, sailing, motion, movement, water, emotion and energy are some of the themes Caroline Tavelli-Abar loves to work with.<\/p>\n

In 2011, she began creating watercolors on folded paper, and, as the years have passed, her work has taken several directions including these new larger abstract images of 2017. These current images are a continuation of the sailing images, and also a way to bring light into her life.<\/p>\n

Recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder she remains deeply immersed in her creative work, which brings her immense solace in times of depression, and deep hope in times of joy. #stigmafree<\/p>\n

BIO<\/strong><\/p>\n

Caroline Tavelli-Abar was born in Switzerland. She grew up in the Valais region of the Alps. In 1990, she moved to the United States to explore her maternal roots, and spent several years traveling.<\/p>\n

She earned her Bachelors degree in liberal arts from Norwich University and Vermont College in 1995. During those years, she attended the drawing marathon at the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture. Inspired by the intensity of the school she moved to New York City, and, in 1998, she began working with private art collectors caring for their collections, as well as in her own studio.<\/p>\n

Today she lives in Vermont full time, and is deeply immersed in her creative work.<\/p>\n
