STATEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am a native Vermonter and now live on a farm in Milton, Vermont. I am a self-taught artist in the field of acrylic painting. The natural beauty of Vermont has been the greatest influence on my art. I enjoy painting views of the landscape near my home in vivid, lush colors, often times more intense than that seen in nature. I use the palette knife and brush energetically for more spontaneous results and look to capitalize on the special \u201caccidents\u201d and properties of the paints to create an exciting, textural, impressionistic and often abstract painting of nature\u2019s shapes and seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BIO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am a native Vermonter from St Albans, Vermont and now live in Milton, Vermont. I graduated from the University of Vermont, where I took many of the studio arts classes. I exhibit with Burlington City Arts and am a founding member of the Milton Artists\u2019 Guild, in Milton, Vermont, in 1988. I am also the curator for the Milton Artists\u2019 Guild Art Gallery. I am proud to have many original paintings and prints in the permanent collection at the UVM Medical Center in Burlington as well as other Vermont hospitals and businesses such as the Stowe Mountain Resort. I work with acrylic paints using color and bold strokes with a palette knife in an energetic and intuitive style. I mostly paint the beautiful country landscapes around our farm. Twenty-two of my paintings were selected to be on the covers of various math books for Pierson\/Addison-Wesley, Boston, MA, 2007-2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
