STATEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A life fully lived is a life lived in motion. I am inspired by motorcycling around Vermont, where the riding season is short, and the landscape is breathtaking. I love chasing a single blink-and-you\u2019ll-miss-it moment in hopes of memorializing it through my artwork. Too often we go about our lives without recognizing or appreciating the world around us, and life is so short. I breathe life, wonder, and vitality into the moments of everyday life, getting inspiration from taking a walk or going out for lunch. The scenic byways of Vermont especially inspire me–being able to see for five, ten, twenty miles with a wideopen sky and a mostly undisturbed landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BIO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laura is a primarily self-taught artist using painting & printmaking techniques to create fauvist-inspired landscapes and road-trip themed artwork. Her creative process is forged through travel on her Honda Navi motorcycle, or riding passenger on her partner’s Harley-Davidson Sportster. These “blink and you’ll miss it” pieces celebrate the everyday beauty that surrounds us. Her individual pieces have been on display at Hand Built Market (Brattleboro) and Sparrow Art Supply (Middlebury), and she has participated in collaborative exhibitions at the Tang Gallery (Saratoga Springs, New York) and the Phoenix Art Museum in Arizona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
