O.N.E.der Dome in Burlington, Vermont

O.N.E.der Dome
Artist: Various
Location: Hyde Street Triangle Park, Burlington, VT

On a sunny day, make your way to the Hyde Street Triangle Park where North, Hyde, and School Streets intersect in Burlington. Stand under the nine-foot-tall steel and glass structure and your reward will be a dazzling display of light and color. The O.N.E.der Dome feels like a life-size kaleidoscope. The glass was made by participants of Very Special Arts and Howard Center for Developmental Services with the help of Terry Zigmund at the Burlington Community Glass Studio. Zigmund’s work can be found around Burlington, in the doors of private residences, Soup window at Great Harvest Bakery, and for sale at Frog Hollow Vermont State Center. The metalwork was done by John Marius at Champlain Metals who, incidentally, worked on Lars-Erik Fisk’s Train Ball at Union Station. The dome was installed in April 2010.
