Mark says, “My work is done either on location, or derived from work done on location, thus I’m always flush with paintings at the end of a season, just in time for, well, nothing. So while we exalt in the first warm days of a new season, the gallery is stocked with the fruits of the previous one. I’ve never been able to get ahead, and this time I thought: why fight it, just go with it. Plus, I like to think that a great painting transcends the seasons.”
