Transportation Stories of Burlington’s Bikers and Walkers by Alyson Wall
With the ever-rising number of cyclists and walkers in Burlington, there is an expanding community practice of people ditching their cars and using their bodies to get where they need to go. But who are these people? What are their stories behind walking and biking versus using motor powered transportation? Looking to answer these questions, Alyson Wall conducted a series of interviews with those who walk and/or bike as a primary mode of transportation in the Burlington area. This series includes transcriptions from each interview, as well as photographic portraits of each individual. Come see the stories of those who use the power of their bodies to travel about!
University of Vermont senior Alyson Wall, an Environmental Studies major with a focus on community and sustainability studies, created this exhibit in partnership with Local Motion. She is excited to work with Local Motion, exhibiting the stories of her community members and their wonderful stories!
