Tarrant Gallery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1595\" title=\"Span by Clark Russell\" src=\"http:\/\/vermontartguide.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/001Span-web-300x215.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"215\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vermontartguide.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/001Span-web-300x215.jpg 300w, https:\/\/vermontartguide.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/001Span-web.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Friday, June 7, 5:30-8PM<br \/>\nRECon (Clark Russell &amp; Tom Lawson) performs as part of the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival lineup: 7-7:45PM<\/p>\n<p>Burlington artist Clark Russell has been making art (paintings, collage, and wall sculptures) since his post-college days, around 1984.\u00a0 This exhibition includes a collection of his elegant abstracts created from salvaged scrap metals and high-relief collages.\u00a0 His three dimensional wall pieces take center stage in the show and feel a bit like dances and music floating along.<\/p>\n<p>About Clark Russell<\/p>\n<p>Clark Russell was born in St. Louis, Missouri and received his B.A. at the University of Vermont in 1983. He has been painting and making collage and sculpture since 1984.\u00a0 He is a singer\/songwriter in the (punk) band BLOWTORCH and makes sound collage improvisation with fellow artist and musician Tom Lawson in the collaboration known as RECon.<\/p>\n<p>Russell has been showing his work throughout Vermont and the region. Among a long list of exhibitions he has had solo exhibitions at JDK, Firehouse Gallery, Rhombus Gallery, and Songbird Gallery in Burlington and at the Robert Hull Fleming Museum and the Living\/Learning Gallery at the University of Vermont.\u00a0 He has also shown in galleries in New York and Quebec.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/vermontartguide.com\/places\/?p=423\" target=\"_blank\">AMY E.
