Curated by artists Gowri Savoor and Angelo Arnold, “A Journey Across Boundaries” features the work of eleven regional visual artists: Angelo Arnold, Galen Cheney, Jason Galligan-Baldwin, Karen Henderson, Liz Kauffman, Rachel Moore, Gowri Savoor, Jason Swift, Mary Zompetti, in addition to poet and winner of the Vermont Book Award 2015, Kerrin McCadden and musician and composer, Evan Premo.<\/p>\n

Each artist addresses\u00a0the theme of Boundaries through a complement of sculpture, painting, photography, installation, poetry and music. While several of the artists address\u00a0emotional boundaries within their personal histories, others interpret the physical, ecological and geopolitical divisions within our local and global systems.<\/p>\n

The issue of Boundaries is both pertinent and topical; the show brings to focus the ways in which artists understand the invisible and unspoken walls that exist within our environment–complex barriers that shift our perspective, redefine relationships and shape our understanding of the world.<\/p>\n

“A Journey Across Boundaries” is curated by Central Vermont-based artists Gowri Savoor and Angelo Arnold. Arnold works primarily with furniture-inspired anthropomorphic sculpture and received his MFA in Studio Arts\/Sculpture from the Ohio State University. Savoor is a visual artist working in sculpture, painting and the Indian art of Rangoli. She has exhibited in national and international exhibitions and believes passionately in the power of participatory, community art events.<\/p>\n
