Pick up a guide book at any of the participating venues. Montpelier Alive produces the Montpelier Art Walk. May&#8217;s Art Walk is also the kick off for Montpelier Mayfest 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The T.W. Wood Gallery opens &#8220;A Change in the Weather: A Joint Exhibit of Adelaide Murphy Tyrol and Richard Murphy&#8221; from 4-8PM with an Art Walk presentation at 6PM and music by the CBT Band, 4:30-6PM. Also, check out the opening of &#8220;Show 17&#8221; at The Front, which features the latest works by\u00a0gallery\u2019s Vermont-based contemporary artists and live, ethereal music by Ben Cosgrove. The event is free and open to anyone. Most venues are open from 5-8PM, but some are\u00a0open earlier or later. <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artmapburlington.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Art Map Burlington<\/a><\/em> is the official guide to First Friday Art, pick up your copy around town.<\/p>\n<p>Richmond, Vermont-based artist Emily Mitchell is the featured artist at the <a href=\"http:\/\/seaba.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SEABA Gallery<\/a>. Mitchell begins with playful applications of leftover paint on spare canvasses, and slowly evolves from loose, colorful marks into vibrant and complex \u201clandscapes\u201d. Meet Emily at her artist reception. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.froghollow.org\">Frog Hollow<\/a> presents \u201cNine by Nine\u201d, featuring ceramic tiles created by Dianne Shullenberger, Daryl Storrs, Ulrike Tessmer, Ellen Spring, Irene Lederer LaCroix, Carol MacDonald, Wendy James, Heidi Broner and Sally Duval. Many offer meet-the-artist receptions, some with refreshments, and a few present live music. Visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gallerywalk.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Walk website<\/a> for a map and complete listings with examples of the art on display as well as feature articles for the month; a printed version of the Walk guide is available at all venues, a number of other downtown locations, the I-91 Welcome Center, and many local lodging options. Official Walk hours are 5:30 to 8:30, but many venues are open earlier, and a few remain open later.
