STATEMENT

I love creating work every single day. It’s my daily practice and meditation. I’ll have several pieces going at once, often different medias but all exploring my fascination with the beauty, complexity and the constant tension between life and death.

BIO

I am a self taught, emerging artist living and painting in Charlotte. Born and raised in rural Pennsylvania, I spent countless hours outdoors exploring the vast farmland I called home. My parents influenced me at a young age. Both medical professionals, lovers of the arts and artists themselves, day trips to Manhattan and Philadelphia were common. As an adult, I followed in the footsteps of parents’ medical professions. I am a registered nurse and still practice today. I have created art in various forms my entire life but now creating has become a daily practice and meditation. I enjoy spending time with my family and staying active by hiking, practicing yoga, skiing and fly fishing.

I have exhibited in Burlington’s South End Art Hop (SEABA) every year since 2010, including the 2014 juried show and placing third in the 2013 juried show. I was also juried into Burlington’s Art’s Alive Festival of Fine Art in 2013, 2016 and 2017, as well as The Chaffee Art Center’s new juried artists show. I am active in both local and regional art events and organizations. Solo exhibits include Fiddlehead Brewery, Dostie Bros. Frame Shop, Dealer.com, Black Horse Gallery, The Daily Planet, Red Square, and August First Bakery. Group exhibits include Furchgott Sourdiffe Gallery, SEABA’s Winner Circle exhibit, several SEABA member shows, The SPACE Gallery, Chaffee Art Center, Axel’s Gallery and Frame Shop, UVM Medical Center and the Maltex building (curated by Burlington City Arts).
