Eve Jacobs-Carnahan

Snowball by Eve Jacobs-Carnahan (12"x13.5"x11.5"; wool, angora, mylar; 2006)

Montpelier, Vermont

Eve Jacobs-Carnahan designs and spins her own yarn, giving her complete control over her palette. Although she knits sculptures as opposed to wearables, she includes clothing in many of her pieces. In turn, the form of clothing invokes a human presence. Her work is inspired by traveling, gardening, and reflecting on human interactions with nature and community sometimes including a humorous twist.

A Juried Artist of the Vermont Arts Council, Eve Jacobs-Carnahan’s fiber artwork has been exhibited in twelve states. Her work received awards at Handweavers Guild of America’s Convergence ’06, a biennial conference of fiber artists, and at the Maryland Federation of Art in 2007.  She lives and works in Montpelier, Vermont.
