Neysa Russo: “Artis Equus”
July 2016

“Artis Equus” is an exhibition of handmade wool felt tapestries by Neysa Russo. Artistic renderings of the horse date back more than 6000 years. Russo’s work explores the development of humans’ relationship with the horse via a historical journey throughout the ages. Equestrian imagery is the inspiration. The artist’s muse were designs from ancient pottery, wood carving, bronze and marble statues, as well as antique textile designs from around the globe.
