Juried artisan Amy Felske will demonstrate her craft, the art of soft sculptured doll making. To illustrate her creative process Amy will have a wide selection of works in progress and a couple of pieces near completion. Additionally, Amy’s drawings and patterns will be on display to highlight her design process. The overall theme for the day is dragons.
“People like to see the dragons in progress – especially the wings. I will have 3 or 4 dragons in various stages of completion to show as well as one large piece that is almost finished.” – Amy Felske
This event is free and open to the public.
About Amy Felske
Amy Felske has been making dolls for 20 years. Dragons, mermaids, fairies and trolls emerge from her imagination and are translated into dolls that range from quirky to elegant.
She combines fabric, fibers, natural elements and beads to create dolls that reflect her visions of a fantasy world.
“My work is an exploration of the relation between the whimsical and the mysterious. Drawing inspiration from nature and fantasy I combine natural materials and found objects to create the inhabitants of my imagined world.”
