Show 19 at The Front

ART ON VIEW

Show 19 at The Front
July 28-August 26, 2017

Artist reception: Friday, July 28, 5-9PM

Between a tattoo parlor and a laundromat, this high energy gallery, founded by artist Glen Coburn Hutcheson in 2015, is run by its artist members who provoke curiosity and community engagement with visual art through exhibitions, events, and activities. The seventeen artists present diverse, energetic, high-quality contemporary art in painting, sculpture, drawing, prints and mixed media.

The Front’s “Show 19” “presents the work of the collective gallery’s 17 Vermont-based contemporary artists. Limited edition prints by several of the gallery’s artists will be available for sale.” Among the artists is James Secor whose painting Worthen Block recently won “Best in Show” at the Summer Juried Show at the T. W. Wood Gallery. Secor was featured in Vermont Art Guide #3

“On Wednesday, August 2, 7-8PM, Glen Coburn Hutcheson and Daryl Burtnett will present free artist talks at the Front. Glen is a painter, and Daryl has a background in photography, but is increasingly working in mixed media. Come learn about what motivates them, how they do their work, how they started making art, and how their work has changed.”
